.:Persona:.
.:Alliance:.neutral .:Personality:.Kartik is a very calm horse. It takes a lot to get him worked up to a point that he starts yelling. He generally likes to do things his own way. He's stubborn when he thinks he's right and won't stop being stubborn until he can prove his point, wether it be right or wrong. Only if he's absolutely beaten will he give up on something he's stubborn about. And still you will probably hear him grumble about it. He's very honost about nearly everything. he's a terrible liar in all ways. He could never pass with a lie when he was growing up. Therefore horses generally warm up to him rather quick, being he's kind and gentle and honest with everything. Horses always tell him he'd be a great father, since he loves foals and what not. But he himself thinks he wouldn't be a great father, or a leader for that matter, because he's too soft. He wouldn't be able to discipline or keep order to a herd. So he'd rather be a member than a leader. He likes to play too, very athletic as a foal and still is. When he loves someone, he loves deeply, but sometimes it's hard for him to show it, casuse he's a softy when it comes to emotions. He won't show it until he's sure the other loves him equally back.
.:History:.Kartik's mother was of the pure Hanoverian breed, as were the other horses in the herd at that time. The stallion that led the herd, Nathanial 3rd, was of the oldest of lines of Hanoverian, his father and father before him where pure and also leaders of this very herd. But now, there was a problem. There had been no worthy foals sired by the lead that could lead the herd. And the stallion was growing old with age, atleast too old to succesfully lead a herd. And another terrible thing. The stallion had caught a disease, and become sterile. He just said he hadn't bred any mares, given them a break, this breeding season. No one knew of the disease except him and his breeding mares. Kartik's mother, Era, was one of those mares. She thought he was selfish for keeping the role of lead, dying and not chosing a replacer. She seriously thought of telling Nathanial's secret when she met an interesting stallion that had been wandering the forest nearby. This stallion, Chris, had a very interesting story to tell. Before Nathanial had become leader of the herd, he had a secret hobby that he shared with a few of his "loyal" friends. They were forcers, roaming the nearby forests for lone mares, not of the herd ofcourse, and impregnating the mares. They would take turns breeding them, so each one would have a foal in turn from a mare. They would keep them hostage, toying with them and torturing them. But one time, they caught the wrong mare, a lead mare to another herd. they already had impregnated her and had kept her for a few months. She was obviously pregnant, and this time it had been Nathanial who had impregnated her. Nathanial was off duty now, scoring the forest for their next victim, when the lead mare's mate found her with Nathanials friends. the stallion was furious, killing the stallions in a few blows. The 3 young stallions fell beneath the lead's hooves. The lead stallion, Sean, found his mate, summer, pregnant with another's foal. He was furious with the three he had killed. But at that time, Nathanial returned from an unlucky scouting. Sean had a renewed fury in his eyes, charging and beating Nathanial. He let him live, live through the pain of healing, and remembering because of what he'd done, his friends were dead. Nathanial never forgot that lesson. He returned, saying he'd been maulled by a bear, and his friends were unlucky. He never once thought of the foal that was to be born by Summer. Summer was Chris's mother. Even under the circumstances of her pregnancy, she couldn't stand to see the foal killed. Summer was a mix of thoroughbred and Hanoverian by chance. Summer didn't know, but she was actually a result of forcing by one of the earlier leaders of Era's herd. Chris had come not by revenge, but a desire to meet his father. But Era had other plans for him. Chris was young and healthy, and Summer had raised him well. Era thought he would make a good replacement. Era presentd Chris to Nathanial, and he immediately recognized Chris. They had never met, but some how he just new him, a gut instinct. They talked, and made a deal. Chris and era wouldn't tell Nathanial's secret if Chris was made lead of the herd. Chris would be Nathanial's foal of a mare that had died during birth and Chris had been taken by another herd. He returned now to take his role as lead. And a surprise to Era, Chris made her the lead mare. As you can guess, Era gave birth to Chris's foal, Kartik. Chris being so young, Kartik wouldn't have the chance of being a herd leader for a while, so Kartik grew up being treated kindly by his parents and other members. He was just never good at lying. He spent a lot of time with the new foals being born, sired by Chris. Nathanial died a few months later, torn that his purebred herd was being taken over by a mix. But the thoroughbred only improved the herd's stamina and speed. As Kartik aged, he was highly respected among Chris's other foals. It was the only foal Era ever threw by Chris, she was too old and too busy for more foals. Nathanial's older foals were generally looked over, and so they grew mean. Kartik defended the younger foals, he knew that no good would come from teasing them. But he did push the foals to do good. He was stubborn with them, he was older and wiser than him. He was respected, but he just didn't seem happy to his full potential there. He reluctantly left, and the herd didn't understand why, but neither did Kartik. He would never sire foals of his own here, and he wanted to have a family of his own. So he traveled, and came to this land, horses to be seen for miles around. It would be a great place to start anew.

~Twilight~
My calling is Twilight A mare I am, and it shall be known Pillars carry me high, as I stand 16 hands Genes gave me a coat of white with circles or grey and black, giving me a dapple appearance Orbs are brown, a color signifying kindness My alliance is with no one. I remain neutral to any opinions Flints strike the ground black, with stubbornness Tassels and curtain are white with strands of grey Flag trailing behind me be mainly white, with a black stripe going down the center Nape naturally held high, of the Andalusian breed My orbs have seen the earth for 4 years, continually gaining experience needed to survive this decimated world
~Personality~
An alliance with that of neutrals, twilight has a rather calm and open personality. Always open to new ideas, she is smart and always informed on a topic. She does not express herself though. She keeps quiet, for she does not always believe in herself. Open auds allow her to hear from great distances. It is hard to sneak up on her. Orbs are bright and she can see best at twilight, when the shadows are biggest. The andalusian in her keeps her calm and collected-never to make a strike without thinking. However, they say thinking kills in a fight. Therefore, she is not so fast in battle, always analyzing everything slows her down, but when she makes her move, it usually strikes her target. She always does her best to keep a promise, even if it puts her life on the line. Twilight is a loyal mare; she would never betray anyone. When someone makes a promise to her, they had better keep it. Twilight demands respect, and in return gives respect. Otherwise, she is a shy mare; only those who truly know her have seen all of her. Once Twilight starts something, she finishes it. Her loyalty and importance of promises makes her the perfect horse to send on a quest. She would not come back until she fulfilled her voyage's demands. She is always determined to finish whatever she starts. Twilight also may be defensive. She will not show you the real her unless you can win her heart. Do not push her until you have; you will be beaten. She defends those that have won it; including her friends and her family. Other parts of Twilight have yet to be discovered. She is like a prize. When you win parts of her, you figure out part of her. The only way is by spending time with her and getting her to trust you. Good Luck figuring her out.
~Twilight's History~
Twilight's previous herd had been of a decent size. Her herd was different than most though. The leaders were all females. All the females had scars strew across their bodices, not from battles, but from stallions. Their teeth bit their once beautiful pelts for claiming. An evil stallion, Rayne had claimed all the fours mares leading, Acapella, Talla, Brassa, and Puma. The powerful four had gathered, deciding they would one day break away from him. After a few years, the group had gathered a group of mares and even a few stallions. During that time, the four still had acted like Rayne's slaves. They had even given birth to his foals. They never told Rayne's foals of their plans to break away. They planned to leave all the foals behind, determined not to take away any bloodline of Rayne's with them. Rayne had a thing for one of his slaves, and it just happened to be Puma. Puma did not feel the same for him back, and let him know it. Rayne forced Puma into doing his wishes. The result was a filly, a black filly that would lighten with age, turning almost white. Puma had been determined to kill the foal as soon as it was born. However, she decided against it as soon as she saw how much Rayne loved the filly. She would plan revenge, by taking away his prized filly. Puma vowed to use Twilight to hurt Rayne. The filly grew, and Rayne treated her with better respect than he ever had one of his slaves. Puma's and the group plan would work perfectly. The filly's name was Twilight. Twilight grew up among many mares. They were all slaves of Rayne, meaning they were aggressive and vicious to anyone who got in their way. Twilight learned to fight well, but these were all mares much older than she was. She had to plan, predict the other's move in order to survive. The mares were especially vicious to Twilight. They all had hoped they would be Rayne'sfavorite, for he treated them well. When Twilight, a filly, got the special treatment, they all immediately despised her. The Powerful Four used this to their advantage. They took the mares that not only despised Twilight, but also despised Rayne for choosing Twilight. Their ranks grew out of control. Rayne was so obsessed with his precious Twilight that he did not notice the rebellion growing among his slaves. Twilight did not notice either. She may not completely love Rayne, but he protected her when she was in over heard in a battle. Over the three years Twilight was in that herd, The Powerful Four had given birth to 10 foals, only one being thrown by Puma, and the only one Rayne appreciating. Puma never let him have a foal again. She managed to make it a miscarriage or would have some of the mares who despised Rayne kill it. She was a cold-hearted mare who wanted revenge. The other 9 had not lived long after they were born. On the day of Twilight's 3rd birthday, The Powerful Four had revenge. A sea of crazed mares attacked Rayne and his remaining followers. They had not suspected something: it was Twilight. She had caught wind of the charge. Groups of gossipy mares were too loud and Twilight too near. She had known of the plan. In result, Rayne knew of it too. Rayne and his followers, mainly made up of stallions, were waiting for the sea of mares to succumb them. A bloody battle was fought, lasting the whole day. Rayne had hidden Twilight; he would not let his precious get hurt or scared from this battle. He had not realized how many mares despised him. When the battle was over, all Rayne's followers were dead. Only he survived. The Powerful Four approached him. Their own coats covered in blood, they looked down on him. "Your reign is over." Puma said. She almost killed him, but then she remembered her vow. "Where's Twilight?" Rayne did not love Twilight enough to give his life for hers. In hope of being let go he told where she was. During the war, Twilight watched. She had been hidden at the top of a mountain, so she could see danger coming and be able to escape safely. Cheeks wet from tears, Twilight started heading down the mountain. Not only had she heard the plan of attack. She had heard the plan for afterwards. Then, Twilight was not as strong and stubborn as she was now. It rather grew into her. The Four did not have to search long before they found Twilight, walking out of the woods in her clean coat. The few scars she had did not show for the whiteness of her pelt. She went quietly, prepared to do what she must. When she saw Rayne, she burst into another set of tears. The sight of her father was horrible. His beautiful black pelt was covered in blood, tassels tangled and in his dull eyes. Rayne was alive, barely. The whites of his eyes showed when he saw The Four approach with his daughter, his precious. Puma had an evil face on her maw. She had developed as the leader of the Four. The one who bared the pain of having twilight, and the one who had originally thought up of this evil scheme, Puma told the dying Rayne of the 3 years she had lived with him. She told him everything starting from the beginning. Rayne winced with pain as he realized how much everyone hated him. When Puma was finished, Acapella, Talla, and Brassa brought Twilight out so Rayne could see her. Tears streamed down his face. Twilight tried to stand proud, but her pillars shook beneath her. What would she have to do? Her father was in so much pain. She could not stand it. "Take his pain away, please." She said in pure agony. Puma just stared evilly at her. "You don't know why you're here, do you?" she said. She laughed hard, bellowing loud; the now freed slaves from fields away could hear it. Then it dawned on Twilight. In order to take his pain away, she would have to do it. Twilight turned to her father, "I'm sorry, bye." She whispered quietly in his aud. Rayne closed his eyes, waiting. Twilight parted her maw, showing her long ivories she had inherited from him. She bit his windpipe, breaking it. It was the only way she knew how to kill a horses. The only way she had seen. Rayne coughed and choked. A few seconds later, his cold bodice was still. A line of crimson was around her maw. Puma laughed evilly as he died. She only paused to say, "Get Twilight. We must show her to the mares." Acapella, Talla, and Brassa, rounded Twilight up and took her too the fields where the anxiously waiting slaves were. Her cranium was high, but she wished they would just kill her. She did not want to be here anymore. The slaves all cheered; Rayne was killed and the four were all still living and would take care of them as a herd. The mares never again would trust a stallion. Therefore, Twilight was shown off as the one who killed Rayne. The filly that was so dearly precious to him was the one that ended up killing him. She was heavily guarded. She was now precious to The Four. Twilight was their souvenir. Rarely did she ever see a stallion again. When one came by The Four normally chased him away. Occasionally a stallion managed to come around when one of The Four was in heat, they bred. Then the stallion would be chased away. A new line started. When a colt was born, he was allowed to live. He would be taught that fillies and mares should be given absolute respect. The stallions in a sense had become the slaves in this herd. Before Twilight left, she had been tried to be courted by a few yearlings but she refused or Puma did not feel he was good enough. Puma realized Twilight was of the Rayne line but she wanted a foal from her. She wanted forever for there to be one Rayne so a Rayne would have to suffer the way she had suffered. One visiting stag forced twilight. Puma made sure of it. The Four, now starting to age, had helped the stag corral her. The stag was a true forcer, one that knew his business well. It was done and over with in a few minutes. By Twilight's 4th winter, she had a foal. A filly, except it looked exactly like Rayne. Puma was delighted. She would be able to carry on the line with this filly. Since she looked just like Rayne, Puma would get the upmost delight from hurting the foal. Twilight tried to kill it; it would be the right thing to do so it would not have to suffer. Instead, The Four attacked her along with the aging mares of Rayne. Twilight ran for her life. Before, she would have let them kill her, but while she was being taken care of when she was pregnant, Twilight had time to think. She would have to change things. Determined to start her life anew, she ran for her life. Twilight's under conditioned muscles did not carry her far but the aging mares still were far worse than she was. Years of being badly treated by stallions gave them scars. Scars did not become muscle and strength. Twilight escaped, but now she was alone. Survival was hard. Almost eaten by wolves twice and hunted down by stallions three times had discouraged her but she always remembered that she had to look to the future with and optimistic view or she would never get anywhere. Twilight always walked in a straight line and walked through many territories before she got to the right one.
