A brown mare trotted through the shadow grounds. Her black mane bouncing slightly from her movements as she continued under the starry sky. The mare was new here, but she was new to fighting. When she had passed little groups of horses on her way here, she managed to hear a thing or two about this Twilight Zone. They say it was beautiful at night but if there was a darq was in the area, it would soon turn for the worse. As the mare neared a tree, she slowed down till she came to a stop next to the trunk.
Her four white socks barely seeable in the moonlight as well as her star on her forehead. Her hazel eyes scanned the area for any other horse, dark, light, or neutral. She only wanted a few minutes by herself so she could think about joining a herd. She knew no one here or at least she hasn’t met any one she had known.
The mare shook her mane once again before lying down in the grass. The sky was clear so she was able to catch a shooting star now and then. As she watched the stars, her brothers came back into her mind. She had left Cloud and therefore she also left Fire back in the old lands. Those two could never leave each other alone, but now it was almost weird with the silence.

A maw was raised to the heavens, optics staring at the starry sky. A black banner flirted with the wind, blowing gently in the cool breeze. Black pillars led to a dun body, nothing to tall, but not short either. Black whip danced in the wind, flicking the stallion's rump. Lids closed, and nares drew a deep breath. Who's here on a night like this? Nares revealed all that hid. Wind was his helpful guide, there to show him his enemies, and more importantly, his prey. Kissers parted in a sly grin. A mare, what fun. Maw lowered from the heavens, optics looking forward into the dark forest. Come to me my darling.
The twilight zone was beautiful on night's like this. The sky was cleared of clouds, and the wind blew gently and cool. A perfect place for stargazing. So why did no one take it as their home? A simple reason. It was awful close to the dark lands. Close enough that the darks wandered here nightly, but far enough away that it took a lot of time to get to and fro. It wasn't common to run into a dark, but you couldn't say it was uncommon. The Twilight zone then fell into the realm of traps. A place to attract a dark's prey. No one knew better because most that came never returned.
Optics no longered searched the heavens, but the dark forest before him. Optics constantly searched, as did his nares. All important they were. There would be no point otherwise. Black pillars stopped, skull whipping around to smell a trunk. Fresh and oh so delicious. Nares were flared, upper lip lifting to hold her scent longer. Yes, you're near dearest. No hide and seek tonight. Not long after, optics spotted a dent in the grass. Kissers smiled. Pillars walked slowly, muscles tightening with anxiousness. He stood a few feet away, maw returned to the heavens, optics looking at a shooting star.
Do you come here often?
Vocals were husky, but calm. He didn't look down to her, stare at her with an evil smile. He'd rather wait. Savor the moment of unknowing. It was his favorite part. A hind leg rested, dagger flipped on to its tip. Whip flickered in the wind, as his banner flirted. An aud turned to her, waiting for her reply.

The brown mare didn’t even hear the stallion approach; she was too focused with the starry sky. Her breathing was calm before she closed her eyes for a moment to wish upon that shooting star. The wind did not bring a single sent of the stallion either. It was if nature was playing more to his favors then hers.
When the stallion spoke in calm and husky voice, her ears flickered towards the sound of his voice. Immediately afterwards, she stood up from her resting spot within the grass. Her hazel eyes searched the area around her once again for the voice who had spoken to her. That’s when she saw him a few feet away from her. Her own black mane and tail weaved back and forth from the wind as she watched the stallion. The calmed herself down since her heart was pounding against her chest from the scare.
She studied the stallion that had spooked her not to long ago. His coat looked dun with a dorsal stripe. He had a few scars from what she saw and a white star. His mane and tail was just like hers, black as the midnight sky. His eyes where chocolate brown, just a little darker then her hazel eyes.
His questioned seemed to bounce around in her mind, not knowing which to do or say. “No,” she said after making up her mind, “This is my first time being here.” Her ears flickered slightly to listen to her surroundings. She wasn’t going to let another stallion sneak up on her like he did. “Why do you ask such a question?” she asked in return.
Her voice was nothing like his. When she wanted it to be, her voice could become very stern and cold. But most of the time it was gentle and soft with out her even knowing it. Her hazel eyes watched the stallion, waiting for him to reply and if he moved, to react.

Skull turned at the sudden motion from the ground. Optics stared blankly as she stood, taking a quick peak at what was before him. As she straightened up, skull lifted back to the heavens, as if he had never moved. Maybe he should make a wish of his own. Yet, my dreams never seem to come true. An aud registered the signs of fright; her heaving, but quick breaths showed the body's natural reaction to being frightened. But the mare didn't run, and kissers played a small smirk, slowly growing as the seconds passed. My, my, my, what an interesting mare I've found tonight.
A bay it seemed she was. He was basically a lighter version of her, except for the dorsal stripe that ran down his back. The stripe was the only thing separating him from a buckskin, and he was grateful for it. He wasn't sure why, but he just liked having it. That's Xander for you. But his own optics got caught in her hazel. Skull turned, intrigued by it's rare color. Lids blinked, optics returning to his blank stare well known for it's abilities for setting an awkward tone to the conversation.
An aud flickered forward, listening to the mare's soft words. Another surprise for him. Most of the mare's he saw here were generally...rude you could say. Kissers fought off a sly smile, the corners of them twitching randomly. Another aud flicked to her as she countered with another question. Oh, good question. But I think you'd rather not know.
Well, I haven't seen a mare such as yourself around these parts lately. I come and explore these parts. Vocals sigh sadly. For I have no place to call a home, and it seems I can find the best type of company here, especially at twilight when horses come from all around to see the night shows.
Vocals continually grew more and more sad as he spoke. Xander was slowly learning what it was like to be a horse again. The military had been fun while it lasted, but when he left it, he still had no life outside of military. Xander was lost in the world of now, he hadn't known anything socially, and was a reject in most cases, despite his amazing fighting abilities. he was a loner at this point, learning what it meant to be a horse, and what horses most commonly did, again.
Maw lowered a few degrees, to increase the sense of sadness. Auds hung low, a tad floppy and cute like. The corners of his kissers were forcefully turned down, trying again to suppress laughter. But optics gave nothing away, sadness over whelming him. Xander was starting to get in over his head, he wasn't an actor, he was a dark. Cut it to the chase, boy. It's not twilight forever. Optics looked up to her. Xander had no place to return to, that was true, but he didn't necessarily come for the loving company of others.

The mare watched him carefully so that at any movement towards her, she could react. When he talked, his husky and calm voice turned to sadness. She was used to some of the stallions playing the ‘pity’ act just to get her guard down. She looked at his chocolate brown optics, waiting to catch the lie in his eyes. It seemed like he wasn’t lying for most of the part.
The mare shook her black mane and pawed the ground with her right hoof. “There’s some thing fishy in your story,” she said calmly, “Many warned me on coming here. I doubt you find many horses that come from all around.” Even though she knew the lone part must have been right but she wasn’t going to be played with so easily. Her hazel eyes studied his built this time, putting the numbers into her head. His built was extraordinary meaning that he could out run her and probably win any fight. But the only thing that she couldn’t put into the numbers was how quick this stallion thinks. Was he any good with strategies or was he just all muscle.
She shook her black mane when the numbers were more in his favor then hers. ‘Well then, I guess I’ll get the most out of this while I can,’ she thought. She lifted one hoof and placed it out in front and the other three soon followed in motion. She walked around the stallion a full circle, taking in the entire built of him. ‘He is no light,’ she thought as she went around once more, this time figuring where he aligns himself, ‘He might be a neutral….but his built is almost like….Mako. I’ll have to make sure to keep him in front and not allow him to get around me.’
After she completed the second circle, she stopped in front of him. “If you were planning on fooling me, you are wrong,” she said calmly, “Your most likely a darq and from the others conversation, your planning some thing way different then what you are telling me.” She took a step back to put some more room in between them as the wind blew her black mane back and forth. “So tell me stag…what is the real reason why you are here talking to me,” she said. When she got towards the end of her sentence, her voice reverted back to the gentle then just calm.

(i'm super sorry for the wait. i've been gone time and time again, and this time i wasn't able to get on and say i was going to be gone, sorry) As she looked him over, he stood resting, a hind foot fliped so it was balancing on its tip. A hip rested, shifting his hind weight to his other side. Nares snorted as his maws lowered. The slight sulfur in the air always made him sneeze. Auds heard a commotion and he looked up to see her shaking her black banner and a black pillar striking the earth. Auds heard her calm words, letting a slight smile pass his kissers.
Okay you caught me, maybe they don't come from allaround. But none the less, I've never met them before, so how would I, an unsocial stag, know that?
His vocals played with sarcasm but they were once again his husky signature. But they were light, uncaring. Another observation, she wasn't gullible to the miniscule fact. She's not dumb, obviously. Maybe she's a little smart for her own good though. He watched her look over him again with more detail. The mare was trying to size him up to some degree, for all he knew, she didn't think much of him.
Orbs had drifted off to the sky once again when his auds heard her movements. Orbs looked to see her circling. Vocals nearly laughed. What, are we switching roles here? Doesn't the stallion generally do that. Unless...maybe she...no, she doesn't act like it. But Xander remeained calm, just switching his resting hooves, flicking the other one up, and the other one back to the ground. Flag flicked aimlessly, already playing in the gently blowing wind.
After the completion of two circles, she stopped and faced him. The words she spoke didn't surprise him. He knew she was a smart one. He was quiet and a tad polite as he let her finish. Xandedr was like that sometimes. He couldn't help himself, for it was what he was told from day one. Manners mattered. But as the months and years passed from his old life, he was slowly adjusting to this new life. Xander's auds caught something in her speech. A sly smile played his kissers.
So, there are others here tonight? Who may they be, to know me?
Xander side stepped her question with his own. He wasn't dumb either. Lets see who's giving her this information. Perhaps they're available tonight, if not, they will be soon. Vocals held in a snicker as he stared into her hazel orbs, equally her intensity, if not, raising the bar. Maw was firm, his stance determined.

Star stared back at him; she saw the smirk that had played across his kissers. “My alliance may be neutral and I may flutter to a different alliance, but I do keep a few things to my self,” she replied. Her own smirk played across her kissers as she felt the rhythm to keep her going on. “So when you ask me that question, I am not going to tell you,” she said, “Because for one, I my self don’t remember their names since I am new.”
Her hazel eyes stared at him, holding the intensity. Her own stance was equally determined. Her black mane fluttered at the same time as his did. She broke the glance and looked up at the position of the moon. Not long did she return to continue the intensity that was becoming stronger every minute between the two. She snorted and tossed her head up into the air.
“Well staq, it seems as if the time of us chatting has been depleted,” she said, her voice continue the calmness from before, “After all, I do have to find a safe place to rest before the sun comes up again.” With those last words, she turned around to face the direction in the neutral lands. She flicked her mane before starting to gallop off. Her ears how ever waited for his noise, for some reason, she didn’t believe he wouldn’t let her slip by so easily.

Black eyes rolled as she gave her simple explanation for not giving him the horse's names. He wouldn't push the fact, cause he didn't feel like it. Eyes looked her over in her determined stance. She could easily fill in for them anyways. A secret smile formed on his lips, the corners slowly moving upward.
A calm wind blew, their manes playing in sync to it. Not much later she snorted, her patience finally gone, and raised her maw to the heavens. She spoke as if giving an excuse for her to leave. Oh, but the game has just begun my pretty. Yet Xander did not move, he let her turn around, he leaned forward slightly but he held himself, and run off. He knew not to give immediate chase. He actually didn't really like the chase, but the game had already started, and he didn't plan on loosing.
She became small in his sight before he moved again. He could no longer hear her, but the wind played in his favor as it blew her aurora to his waiting nares. He moved as silently as possible. Xander rounded his path of pursuit, to not follow directly behind her. He moved quick, weaving between the sparse trees that were quickly thickening as they moved deeper into the zone. Soon visiblitly would be very limited, and so would movement. A sly smile played his maw.
His fast pursuit paid off as the mare grew in his sight once more. He could hear her every move, as she could probably hear his. Xander loved this part of the chase, being the only good part til the end. Xander loved the adrenaline of the prey knowing of the chase, and then realizing a trap. Xander knew that the forest was only passable in certain areas, and unless the mare knew where those areas were, he'd have what he called a trap. For now, he wouldn't approach, he'd wait for the mare's reaction. A shiver of excitement ran down his spine. This is what brought him to the Twilight Zone, the pure joy of it.

Star kept galloping but slowed when she heard a sound. Her ears flickered back and forth, trying to locate the sound. She knew it was going to easy for what she thought was a darq stag. “Fine, if you want to play that game, I will,” she muttered. The mare gave a hard shook of her neck so her black mane moved back and forth. She leapt over the fallen log that was in front of her before taking off in a fast sprint.
Sweat started to roll down the mare’s face as she tried to remember the one path she took. ‘Left…forward…right….left..,’ she thought as her breathing became heavier. She turned left at the next turn and ran down that path only to meet up at a dead end. She looked around, there was no way out. She just realized she took a left which should have been a right.
The mare pinned her ears to the back of her skull as she turned around to face the only path out of there. She knew that stag had to be not that far behind and Star would fight him if that was the case. Her breathing was still fast but was slowly calmly as her hazel eyes searched the area for his figure. If he didn’t appear in a few minutes, she would figure she had lost him and she’ll go back and take the right that time.

Her words were lost to him for he couldn't hear them over the thunder of their hooves. He was close enough she could see his outline, but he ran just off the beaten path, so the trees shadows played with his own, distoring his figure.
Just purely because he wanted to, he moved into the path and jumped over the log she had just crossed seconds before, he was sure she would hear him land, but he moved back to the edge of the path, his shadow blending with the trees. The twilight zone was perfect for a scary chase, everything just seemed boring after it.
He just meerly followed her now, let her get tired first. She'd be a bit more reasonable when she was tired. But as she turned left, he knew the trails well enough by now to know where it lead to: no where. A smirk played his maw. He slowed to a walk and didn't even try to catch up to her. The suspense he knew would kill her. But, he wasn't sure what she would do. Would she think she'd lost him? He didn't know, he couldn't read minds. He'd just do what he thought of.
His lighter body seemed to float as his legs were barely visible in the shadows of the trees that lined the path. It made him more easy to spot, but sometimes that would bring fear to others when they knew a chase was coming. And this one was soon to come to an end. He stopped as she came into sight around a bend. She stood square, facing him. He didn't mind her seeing him, he just wanted to see what she would do. So he stood with his hind foot resting. He stood about 50 feet away from her, waiting. This is a toll road, pretty thing.

Star saw his figure come around the bend, what ever happened next wouldn’t be side tracked. Her ears still pinned as tightly as they could to her skull, she snorted. He didn’t look even the little bit of tired or if he was, he sure wasn’t showing it. While with Star, beads of sweat rolled down her neck and she was still breathing a bit hard.
“You’re not giving up easily are you?” she said. She let out a deep breath and shook her mane. She was racking up the odds of a fight. It was a very slim chance that she would win with her current state and his. Never less, she had to fight; she had to try to beat him. She closed the gap so there was only 10 feet in between them.
“Fine then, we’ll fight. If I win, I leave with out any more trouble from you,” she said. Of course he would put his two cents in and she may not like his part of winning. But at the moment, fighting was the only way of not giving up to him, that’s the one thing she was taught as a filly, not giving up.

I generally don't give up that easy, babe.
Xander switched his hind feet, shifting his weight. Skull was turned to the side, optics looking her up and down. He must have done this several times by now, but he couldn't get enough of her. She stepped toward him, leaving the 10 feet between them. When she stopped, his bodice swumg into motion, and he, in one stride, closed the 10 feet gap. Nares were breathing hard, partly from the run, but mainly from the adrenaline that flowed through his veins.
But what would be the point of the fight if it would only damage your pretty little pelt?
Vocals wispered icely in to her pinned auds. He'd rather not have damaged goods, but if for play is what she wished for, then he wouldn't mind. Kissers smiled as he ran his tongue quickly at the back of her jaw, then moved his head to the side, anticipating a reaction, perhaps an attack. Optics turned to ice as he looked at her sweaty body. What fun I shall have, and she too if she wants.
(just so you know, I don't think i'll claim her. Xander doesn't have a land or herd at the moment, so he can't really claim)

Star was going to answer him, but was caught off when he ran his tongue quickly at the back of her jaw. She snorted and shook her head, trying to shake some of his spit off. What he said was one of the factors of fighting or not. In fact, the other factor on fighting is her will not to give up. Her ears slowly came off the back of her head as she thought more about the decision. He too knows the out come of the fight from her current tiredness.
“Fine,” she muttered before looking him in the eyes, “You’re just lucky that the odd of me winning is maybe two percent.” He was the only dark….or neutral that managed to get her into this state…So in a way, it was his reward before being the only stallion to do so. She took a step forward so her head would be about the middle of his neck. She rubbed her head on his neck as her black tail flickered.
“Just one thing…what alliance to you go by?”

When she didn't attack, kissers smiled and he just listened to her lovely vocals speak of her giving in to his will. She glanced in his eye and he leveled with her, but not so icey any more. Kissers merely smiled, and he just let her talk. She moved forward a step and rubbed her head on his nape. His ivories nibbled on the base of her mane, his mood lightening at the knowledge of furture actions. Imagining it was enough to get him going. Tongue snaked from his mouth and licked her shoulder, then ivories nibbled almost gently.
Her black tail flickering caught his eye, and he just snickered. She almost seemed a tad eager for them to go. Maybe she'd be worthwhile to hang on to for a little bit. His vocals hummed slightly as she rubbed her head on his nape. Anticipation was getting to him. Her questioning vocals though surprised him slightly. He wasn't expecting any more questions.
Well, I suppose you could call me dark, but truly my mood is my alliance. I am what I feel like to be.
Vocals purred to her before resuming the spot on her shoulder. If some horse randomly walked by, it would meerly look like they were grooming each other or something. Kissers smirked, but he waited for her next words.

So that’s why she didn’t know if he was a darq or neutral, he just plays by his mood. She could feel him resuming his nibbling on her shoulder. She had nothing else to say and to give him that hint she gave him a small, gentle nip on his shoulder. Her breathing was starting to calm down as she busied her self again with his neck. Her ears flickered now and then when the wind shook the leaves in the trees. After you get used to it, Xander could start to become a comfortable stallion.
Star wasn’t sure why she was always more comfortable around darq stallions than lights. Maybe because that’s what she was around when she was a filly. She wasn’t sure if Xander was one of those stallions who leaves after breeding and if the mare had a colt, comes and takes it once it is weaned off of milk. Even though Xander wasn’t the stallion she had in mind, but the foal that she will have would have her blood.
She continue to rub her head against his neck as those thoughts went through her mind. She almost started to wonder if that’s what the only thing he was going to do.

[g or no? i'm not in too great of mood for passionate g or whatever, but i can if you want]
When she didn't speak, he took it as her curiousity satisfied. He lifted his head off her shoulder. Thoughts quickly ran through his head. A sigh parted his maw and his ivories returned to her shoulder. Ivories left a small nip, his claimance of her. He got her to... behave, so he may as well keep her. It would just mean he would have to actually go and find a place to keep his herd. He'd heard of a stallion that had claimed a land, perhaps he could just keep his herd there.
Once his tongue felt a trickle of blood, his ivories let go. He didn't want to leave a big scar on her pretty pelt after all. Xander walked down her side, rubbing his side against hers. He absorbed her warmth that she had gathered from the run. It sent shivers up his spine. He could feel his own adrenaline rush starting to peak once more. Nares inhaled deeply, just smelling her aurora. He rounded her rump. Ivories nibbled on the base of her tail as his shaft extended. Without further hesitation, Xander mounted her swiftly, placing his shaft just at her entrance. Lungs began to breathe harder, already the pleasure was anticipated. His forelegs wrapped around her ribs, a solid grip. Ivories nibbled on her withers, holding back his moans. His hips then jolted forward and his shaft was completely inside her flesh. A grunt escaped his maw. A quick question was in order.
Tell me, is this your first time?

((It's up to you. I don't really care))
Star felt him nip a bit harder on her shoulder and wince when she felt him breaking the skin. She felt his colder body against her warm body as he moved back. She couldn’t help it for her own adrenaline started to rush. As she felt his ivories nibbling at the base of her tail, she flickered it to the side. It wasn’t long before she felt him mounting, waiting for a second for what she figured for his adrenaline to reach its peek. His forelegs had gripped around her ribs for a hold. She could hear his breathing getting harder, he knew of the pleasure that was soon to come. Her ears flickered as he nibbled on her wither’s before he entered with in her.
His question came as a surprise for her for she figured neither of them would talk during this. Her kissers apart to answer his question. “Yes,” she replied. The farthest she had gotten to those she liked was a strong relationship. But never this far have they gotten before some thing else had happened. She was probably sure he was surprised at her answer since she is five and normally mares had already had a foal by then. Not her, the only foals she had were the ones she had adopted to raise.

Vocals grunted as he aknowledged her. It wasn't common that he came across a mare that hadn't been broken. It might explain why she ran. As he thought back to previous experiences, most he encountered didn't run after they knew his intentions. Maybe it was why he had had such an adrenaline rush when he chased her. He didn't get to have a chase all too often.
His shaft reached her core and he was dying to let his seed spill. His pillars wrapped tighter around her and his hips bucked as he pumped his seeds into her. He bit his bottom lip as a moan spilled from his maw. He wasn't even sure if they mare was in heat, but if she was, well, he'd have a start to a herd atleast. Nares snorted as he backed out of her. His dismount was smooth, his shaft back in his sheath. Nares were still flared, the red showing, from the adrenaline rush. Vocals were a tad husky as he spoke.
There's a valley I was thinking of placing a herd on. You can go there for now, and I'll talk to the lead. I'm sure he won't throw out a pregnant mare.
